Jeep has announced many exciting updates to its lineup in recent months. Just one of these announcements is the rebirth of the iconic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer will bear its own nameplate and be a premium extension of the Jeep brand. The Wagoneer lineup will feature some of the most advanced technology in the automotive industry. So much so that we wanted to take a few moments to give you an insider look at just how technologically advanced the 2022 Wagoneer will be. Keep reading below to learn more!

What infotainment software do Wagoneer vehicles use?

In 2014, Jeep adopted the Chrysler Uconnect system and has been using it ever since. Jeep is currently running Uconnect 4, but the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will utilize Uconnect 5. This upgraded software will run five times faster than the previous generation and offer a wide variety of never-before-seen features. The Wagoneer will feature a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, while the Grand Wagoneer's touchscreen will be 12-inches. The touchscreens are strategically placed to be within easy reach of the driver and front passenger. The system features seamless smartphone integration without the use of wires with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. Amazon Alexa functionality is also used for a home-to-car function, allowing you to create or continue a to-do list, play music, check the weather, and more. The Uconnect 5 system can memorize five user profiles in which drivers can set music preferences, climate control settings, seat position, and mirror angle to give a personalized driving experience. Other standard tech features include dual Bluetooth connectivity, 4G LTE WiFi for up to eight devices, TomTom navigation with over-the-air updates, voice recognition, and much more. The Grand Wagoneer Obsidian and Series III will add an extra thirty inches of touchscreen surfaces with 10-inch screens on both front seatbacks for second-row entertainment and one on the dash in front of the passenger seat. The second-row entertainment system will feature Amazon Fire TV with hundreds of thousands of games, apps, movies, and TV shows.

What sound system does the Wagoneer use?

Jeep collaborated with the premium home audio brand McIntosh to create a uniquely immersive audio experience. McIntosh made two custom sound systems, each specifically designed for the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. McIntosh MX950, a 19-speaker sound system, is available to the Wagoneer Series II and the Grand Wagoneer Series I and Series II. It features a 17-channel 950-watt amplifier and a 10-inch subwoofer. The Grand Wagoneer Obsidian and Series III come standard with MX1375. This is a 23-speaker system powered by a 24-channel 1375-watt amplifier with a 12-inch subwoofer. Both systems provide a crystal clear sound to immerse all passengers.

What is the driver information display?

The driver information display behind the steering wheel is digital, fully customizable, and can be memorized in the user profiles. On the Wagoneer, the display will be on a frameless 10.25-inch screen, while the Grand Wagoneer will feature a 12.3-inch display. The driver can customize the system to suit their preferences with over two dozen menu options. The system defaults to a digital speedometer between analog RPM and MPH gauges for a traditional look. The display can also show turn-by-turn navigation, current music selection, caller ID, and more. Driver assists can also be viewed on this screen, showing you the active lane-keep assist, blindspot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and more. The display shows in full color with five configurable tiles allowing the drivers to have their vehicle show them their most used information. The available head-up display projects the driver information display on the windshield.
