Have your Ram 1500's oil changed every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. It is likely your Ram 1500 is equipped with an oil change indicator that lets you know when it's time, but remember to also factor in your driving conditions. Most drivers can stick to the regular 7,500-10,000 mile schedule, but those using their Ram 1500 for slightly heavier duties such as towing should shoot for an oil change every 5,000 to 8,000, or 3,500 to 5,000 miles for off-roading and heavy towing. In addition, it is best to have your truck's tires rotated at this service. Tire rotation is an often-overlooked part of any vehicle's maintenance schedule, but it shouldn't be. Tires tend to wear unevenly due to several factors, including driving style, road conditions, alignment, suspension, and the vehicle's drivetrain.

It is a good idea to inspect the CV/Universal Joints and Front/Rear Axle surface for wear and tear. It would also be helpful to replace your engine air filter at this service. This filter ensures the air in your Ram 1500 engine is as clean as possible. 

Inspecting the engine coolant and brake fluid is recommended at this service. At this point, it is unlikely that these items will need replacing. Under normal conditions, engine coolant should last between 10 years or 150,000 miles, but familiarize yourself with the system to spot abnormally low coolant levels more efficiently. Consider a complete drain, flush, and refill if the coolant appears dirty or rusty.
