Jeep Clubs and Off-Roading in PA

If you own a Jeep model and are ready to hit the trails, it may be a good idea to join a Jeep Club! What is a Jeep club? These clubs are made up of other like-minded people who love to get behind the wheel of a Jeep and tear up the earth together. There are many different types of Jeep clubs out there from family-friendly or age oriented, to experience-oriented or community-oriented. There are even clubs that offer all of the above! It’s important to know what you want to get out of a Jeep club before joining one! Plus, if you are new to the off-roading world, Jeep clubs are a great place to learn from older and more experienced riders so you can stay safe while having fun! We are going over some of the Jeep Clubs that operate in Pennsylvania and some great places to go off-roading, so keep reading.

          

Jeep Clubs

PA Jeeps -- This local, non-profit club is striving to protect everyone’s right to utilize public lands not just for off-roading but also for hiking, camping, and even horseback riding. Started by a small group of friends in 1992, PA Jeeps now has a group of over 100 friends. There are membership dues but the club is also funded by contributions and fundraisers. Plus, there are events for everyone from shows to family trail rides!

Blue Mountain Jeep Alliance -- This jeep club was established to bring people who love Jeeps together! Celebrating camaraderie, Blue Mountain Jeep Alliance shares Jeep and off-roading knowledge with each other so everyone can ride safely and have fun. The Blue Mountain Jeep Alliance offers tons of events throughout the year like trail rides, cookouts, more! Interested in joining this club? They meet on the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm.

Schuylkill County Jeep Alliance -- Founded in 2012, this club is focused on fun and family-oriented activities, learning and sharing ideas and knowledge, and maximizing the off-roading experience! They make sure to respect each other and the land that they drive on. There are no fees to be paid for this club but any expenses are shared evenly between members. Events include rides, car washes, wrench parties, and charitable events to help out the community!

Off-Roading

Rausch Creek Off-Road Park -- Best known as Rausch Creek, is THE place for Jeep off-roaders. There are over 3,000 acres with easy, intermediate, and difficult trails that offer club friendly trails, hills, rocks, and bowls. Plus, there is free on-site camping so you can make a weekend out of it!

Rock Run Recreation Area -- This park has over 140 miles of 4x4 trails with difficulty levels suiting every experience level. This park is incredibly well maintained and is a favorite among the Jeep community. You can check their website for open days and operating hours. A day of riding costs $27.

Nemacolin Woodlands Offroad Course -- This park is great for those trying to get their off-roading footing with over 20 miles of wooded trails and even a rock garden. Here you will learn how to get the most out of your 4x4 vehicle. What’s makes this course unique is the ability to take your own Jeep or ride along in one of their for a viewing experience.
