What Engines Power the 2023 Dodge Hornet?

When it comes to its powertrain options, the 2023 Dodge Hornet is sure to impress! This year, Dodge is unveiling not one but two powertrain systems that push the boundaries past anything we’ve seen thus far on a Dodge vehicle. There are two trim levels in the lineup, the R/T and the GT, and each one comes equipped with its own unique engine. First up, the R/T is stepping onto the scene with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a gas engine alongside a 15.5-kWh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This engine can deliver up to 285 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and it also offers up to 30 miles of electric driving range! Up next, you’ll find the GT, which has its own all-new powertrain featuring the Hurricane4. This is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine rated at a mighty 265 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and it is specially engineered for enhanced fuel efficiency without sacrificin performance!

What are the Dodge Hornet’s Design Features?

The 2023 Dodge Hornet stands out from the rest of Dodge’s vehicles right away, thanks to its new compact SUV (CUV) shape. This sleek and sporty silhouette is larger than the Charger, but smaller than the Durango, bringing you the perfect balance of strength and agility. Its size also gives the Hornet the versatility to feel driveable on a daily basis, while still feeling robust. On the front end, you’ll find a sleek mail slot-inspired grille opening, accompanied by the classic Dodge emblem. Both the RT and G/T trims include features like standard black upholstery, with a pop of red accent stitching. You can also step things up a notch with available red leather accents, or Alcantara suede interior. If you’re looking for a bold look, you can go or the available Track Pack package, which will add some shiny aluminum accents throughout the interior, as well as larger 20-inch wheels. Lastly, the available Blacktop package offers a dark and mysterious design, with black accents inside and out.

What are the Performance Features of the Dodge Hornet?

The Dodge Hornet has a wide array of performance features so that you can enjoy the high-powered experience that you can expect from the Dodge brand! There are several features that you’ll recognize from other models in the lineup, but there are also some new features that are sure to impress! First off, the R/T’s powertrain provides you with three drive modes, Hybrid, Electric, and eSave. With these features, you can choose how you’d like to use your car’s energy, allowing you to save your battery charge for later, or use just the battery for up to 30 miles of emissions-free driving. The GT features a Sport Mode option, which offers stiffer suspension for a more agile drive. Other performance feature include Brembo brakes, paddle shifters, dual exhaust tips, and a flat bottomed steering wheel. There’s also an available PowerShot button for an immediate burst of horsepower!
