Jeep tweaked the Compass exterior for 2022, but the signature 7-slat grille is still front and center. The new interior design is sleek and modern with a new steering wheel, a new dash. A new instrument panel is paired with a hand-wrapped premium bolster and slim air conditioning vents for a refreshed dash. Jeep’s impressive Uconnect system is displayed on a standard  8.4-inch screen, the largest standard screen in its class. However, drivers can upgrade their screen to a massive feature-rich 10.1-inch unit. Drivers will appreciate the 27 cubic feet of cargo space when the back seats are in place and up to 60 cubic feet with the seats folded down. 

The new 2022 Jeep Compass offers more than 75 safety and security features that use innovative technologies that inspire driving confidence, for which the Jeep brand is renowned. For example, this new Jeep comes with a Highway Assist semi-autonomous driving system. The system uses multiple sensors, including radars and cameras, to control the vehicle on approved highways. In addition, Jeep's Pedestrian and Cyclist Automatic Emergency Braking system is now standard across the entire Compass lineup. This system uses Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus to help benefit pedestrian security. To detect and help prevent collisions with pedestrians, a widened range of the feature's radar technology is used to identify potential frontal impacts. If the system detects a pedestrian and determines a collision appears imminent, it will activate the vehicle's brakes if the driver does not respond accordingly. In certain conditions, the system is capable of bringing the car to a stop. 

The 2022 Jeep Compass comes with an impressive 2.4-liter inline-4, producing 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. This engine has been paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission on front-wheel-drive configurations and a 9-speed automatic on all-wheel-drive models. As a result, the Compass offers drivers excellent on and off-road capabilities. Jeep’s Active Drive system is standard on Sport, Latitude, and Limited 4x4 models. This system delivers seamless operation in and out of the four-wheel drive at any speed with no driver intervention. It can provide 100% of the engine’s available torque to the rear wheels, enabling optimal grip in low-traction conditions.
